Default Handlebar Position

One thing I have never quite understood.....to adjust the handlebar position do you just flip the things the arrows are pointing to in the picture 180 degrees around and the bars will move forward a tad? My bike is being shipped at the moment so I don't have it but I believe there are some arrows that point forward on those pieces. Is that the closer or further position?

First you loosen the nuts that hold the risers to the triple clamp. Then take the top four bolts off the top clamp to release the handle bars, spin the riser 180º and reinstall the handle bars. Then tighten the riser nuts up underneath again.

When the arrow is pointing toward the front of the bike, that is the forward position. toward the rear it's in the back position. I personally really disliked having the bars in the forward position. Just made it feel awkward.

Can't tell in the pic which way they're pointing but if they're going to the front, they're forward. But it's not just the top part of the riser, you have to turn the whole riser around. If you look, you'll see that they're offset.

Yep, what Jon said. When you look at the risers, you will see that they are not symmetrical. So when you flip them around, it offsets the handlebars just a little bit in the direction that the arrows point.
