Default Bad Scorpion...bad!!!

So, after an exciting review from 2 posts earlier, I ordered a set of Scorpion EXO Recon in size "L". They fit well without the liner, and with the liner they are a little tight. They are really warm and fleece lining is very nice!

Unfortunately, their "EXO armor" SUCKS!!! The armor itself is made of some metal pieces that are placed between the leather and the inner liner. The problem is not with safety but with how my hands fits into it. Those metal piece are molded with edges that are too sharp and too narrow for my, apparantly, big hand. Those damn things are cutting into my knuckle every time I make a fist. Perhaps they are a size too small for me or something. All I know is that I have to return these before my knuckle bleeds out from all that scraping.

It really sucks cause I really like the gloves, but I cant have bloddy pinkies.

I found the same issue with the Icon TiMax gloves. They have metal plates all over them for protection. When I would squeeze my hands nothing moved. It just crushed my hand.

Verranth -- I'm sorry to hear the gloves armor is causing you trouble. I haven't had that problem, and I have been wearing them for a while now. Do you plan to try a size larger, or are you going with something else?

Have you guys ever considered the Nexo line of gloves? The good ones are made with kangaroo leather and no metal parts at all. The protective pieces over the knuckles etc. are carbon fibre, so they're very durable.

I thought about it, cause I really liked the way it felt inside. Then i said to heck with it and got some A* gloves. $140 well spent

I got the Alpinestars WR-3 Gore-Tex Gloves

They are freaken awesome! I rode in to work today. 1 hr drive in 62F weather and I was feeling good =)

Glad you found some that you like. I have been wearing mine to work in the mornings without the thermal liner. My hands stay toasty warm even at temps in the low 40's. I imagine with the thermal liner in the gloves, they would be good down below freezing temps.
