Well I ended up getting the AlpineStars SP-2 gloves. SP-2
These gloves need A LOT of breaking in. I can't feel the bike quite as well as I could with my old ass worn out Fox Racing dirt bike gloves. But I also wouldn't have much left of my hand to feel with if I hit the ground with them on. But it's taken about 150 miles for these gloves to finally start to soften up enough. Especially the little finger. The extra layer of leather over that finger really makes it pretty stiff.

I love the look so I'm really hoping they break in more and feel more comfortable. Just like a new helmet, if it feels perfect when you first put it on, it's probably too big and will be too loose once it wears in.

Yeah I get that sometimes. I always thought I was just too tense and needed to relax. Could be something that's cutting off circulation.

I just ordered some new gloves from New Enough. They are the Scorpion Recon gloves. They are waterproof and have a removable insulated liner. They look like racing gloves and have some decent protection. I can't wait to get them and try 'em out!

Question....

How are you determining sizes? The various gloves I have tried on seems like I can go with one size or another? Most of the gloves I want or see are would be purchased on-line. I really cannot find a local retailer that has any gloves I like. I guess I can buy them and return them if incorrect size, but I was trying to avoid that if possible....

Thanks,
Todd

When you buy from New Enough, there is a a sizing guide. Basically, you measure the circumference of your palm when flat on a table, and that gives you the size you need in gloves.

Trying them on is the best way. If you have to order them to try them on I guess that's the next best thing. And using the measurement will get you in the right ball park. But remember that when you first put on a brand new pair of gloves, they will feel pretty tight if they're the right size. Don't get a pair that's loose or even feel perfect right off the bat. They won't be once they break in. Just make sure they don't pinch between the knuckles in your fingers because that may not go away with break in.

My new A*'s are breaking in very nicely. Getting nice and soft and comfortable.

Man, these gloves are GREAT!! It has been getting to be around the low 50's in the mornings and these gloves keep my hands warm with no problem. Then, when I head home it has been in the upper 80's and the gloves don't overheat my hands. And I don't even have the thermal liner in. I bet that when it gets even colder, the liner will still keep my hands warm.

The gloves were a little stiff when I first got them, but as they get broken in, there is more sensitivity for the controls. In my opinion, these are a great set of gloves!!

Default Fieldsheer Sonic Air II Gloves

Bought these from Motorcycle Superstore. $39.00 which I think is a great deal. They are longer then a short-cuff, but shorter then a full gauntlet. They're light, but feel substantial enough to offer protection in a fall. They breathe good in 80 degree weather with 50 degree mornings... I think they'll work fine down to 40-50 degrees no problem.
