Default Sport-Touring project for the 2009 FZ6R

I'm a new rider. My first time riding a motorcycle was 4 days after I purchased it . I purchased my FZ6R late August and I chose the color white.
I'm trying to document the project with this thread, help others with similar questions as well as ask for your comments and suggestions on this. I'll try to add as many pictures as possible, as well as feedback on the completed mods.

My challenge: transform it into a practical, fun and comfortable sport-touring/commuting bike.
  • Completed mods:

    1. Intuitive NO CUT Frame Sliders for FZ6R 09
Very satisfied with the look and quality even though there's cheaper options out there. (read: I rushed purchasing them and probably over payed but it's okay I like`em)
    Payed $108. (Delivered)
Easy to install yourself without removing the fairings.

    2. RAM-Mount holder for EZ Pass, M-Tag, IPASS, & Smart-Tag toll passes on motorcycles & scooters
I live in Chicago land so this is a must, unless you want to keep your I-PASS in your jacket pocket. I really like that the I-PASS is easily removable, so you can take it with you when you park.
    Payed $22. (Local dealer)
    Very easy to install yourself.

    3. Decals & Appearance
The dealer removed for me the decals off the fairings.
    Free stuff

    Yamaha Raised Bubble Windscreen (Clear)
It's main job is reducing the amount of air directed at the rider’s torso. 1" taller than stock windshield.
    Payed $70. (Delivered)

    SW-Motech Centerstand (Yamaha FZ6R & XJ6, '09-)
Greatly eases basic chain maintenance, tire changes, parking ( read: winter storage ), and bike cleaning.
    Payed $153. (Delivered)

    Decals & Appearance
    Rims stripes - DustanGrafixx.com Reflective Stripes: Color: White / Width: 9mm / 17" Wheel
    Payed $16 (Delivered)
  • In the works:

Givi Monokey Maxia E52 Flat black Tail Case + FZ364 Mounting kit + AdMoreLighting LED Kit for Givi E52 topcase Price: $559 Delivered ($279+$136+$129+Shipping@$15)

Garage Opener: LiftMaster 370LM Price: $21 Delivered

L.E.D. Under body: 36 piece setup from plasmaled.comPrice: $40 Delivered

    Garmin Nuvi 265WT + (RAM-B-149U Mounting kit + RAM-HOL-GA25U Holder)Price: $236 Delivered ($187+49)

Remove tank sticker and repaint tank.
    Payed $ 1st estimate $250 ---- still shopping
  • Wish list:

Givi Monokey E41 Side Cases flat black + PLXR364 Mounting kit Price: $692 Delivered ($486+$206)
  • Still researching:

Custom made Boom Box Tank Bag
    Additional driving/fog lights
    On board video camera

To be continued...

Sure thing, as soon as I'm gonna get it I'll get the pics.
The UPS tracking shows that I'll get it Monday ... so Monday or Tuesday I'll update the pics.

Been there, done that...here you go. Go to the bottom of page 1. I have comparisons side by side. Page 2 shows it better in the daylight. I know the Yamaha web site says 1" taller than stock, but it isn't, it's the same height. It's just curved more and allows the wind to flow better, less turbulent. I would still like a taller one when they come out. Hope this helps.

Yamaha Windscreen

If you read the prior thread I posted on "Yamaha Windscreen", I talked about it. It does make the wind less turbulent, but does not quite blow the wind over my helmet. Being that there is only a few options thus far, its better than stock but not by much. It looks better (IMO) and functions a little better, but not as much as I would like. Hopefully, Zero Gravity or others will come out with a taller, touring screen here soon, since our bikes are beginning to gain popularity.
