currently i have a Hawk black helmet (modular with a duel visor)

I haven't had a problem finding yellow gear...haven't even had a problem with the pricing...the problem is that I don;t want to end up having people think i'm copying Uma Thurman lol...love the yellow bike, but as far as a jacket...i'll stick with black and reflector tape...I do hope to get a helmet with the radioactive symbol on it, saw one, but until my helmet gets bad, i'll hold onto it...

Default It's not about The bike

My personal opinion is that it's more about the riding gear and lighting than color of the bike. If you think about it, most accidents seem to happen when all the cager can see is from head-on, or from behind. Very little of the color of your bike can be seen from those angles. But if your gear is bright and reflective, I feal you have a better chance of being seen. People look for what they ecpect, BE THE UNECPECTED, BE LOUD, BE NOTICED, STAY ALIVE! Just my opinion, but I'm 50 nd still alive, and have had no real "close calls".

Agreed, especially when riding in a sea of supersized SUVs. My bike is black, but I wear an orange jacket with lots of relective material and a white helmet. I'm pretty confident that drivers (if they're looking at all) will see me well before they would have a chance to notice the bike.

That "Loud Pipes Save Lives" thing really is a bit of a fallacy...
You don't really hear the bike unless you're in their rear arc - especially when you're at highway speeds - proven fact.

Apart from the fact that my FZ6R is yellow, I'd say yellow. If nothing else, 09MY is the only model year that yellow's available! Gone for 10MY!

Long story short though, it's not what we all think, it's what YOU like. You're the one who has to live with it!

I will be picking up a new colour scheme for "10, white/magenta (or plain old red for normal blokes) one next week. Can't wait.

The gold rims look new for this year too?

I had the same choice to make... they had a Yellow 09, Raven 10, and a blue 09 all for the same price. My first instinct was to get black... but as I was sitting on it, I had a flashback of a few weeks ago when I was driving home... I saw a black bike.. with a blacked out rider (black helmet / jacket)... and what REALLY bothered me... I couldn't see him at all. All I saw was the faint glow of his tail lights.... that made me look toward yellow. I know that it won't make EVERYONE see me, but it is definitely more visible than black at night. My jacket has reflective piping that shows up well even during the day...

The other day, I was riding in front of my wife... and she said she could easily see my bike turning up the street from 1/4 mile away...

I plan to get some neon / led's to light up my bike, too...
