Default tried the camera out tonight

rigged up a camera mount tonight and went for a short ride.

few things i will remember to do before i can post up one of my videos.
1. clean the windscreen
2. figure out how to put music over it,
alot of wind noise and bad shift noise
3. figure out how to keep a consistant line around a curve

anything im missing?
on the bright side, the 'mount' suprising held up.

on the cheap, utube has a "music-over" that works... it'll even tell you a song that's close to the length of your video! Sadly, you won't get any money from them (I'm still confused, 'cause I didn't see money from them before I found this)... Otherwise, get a decent vid editing SW and let it do the work for you!

I guess there is money to be made on utube... if anyone wouldn't mind putting up a new thread on this, would be appreciated.

I usually just use windows movie maker. Easy just drag and drop, crop and edit.

the camera i got is a kodak playsport. i think that it came with software of somesort to do some basic editing, just haven't messed with it at all.
it wasnt really a good day to try it out b/c the wind was terrible. just thought i would give it a try while i had time.
it seems to have good video quality, but nothing in comparison to the gopro videos on here.

Description and/or pics of the mount... Trying to decide what kind of camera/mount I want to go with - don't really like the idea of having it mounted to my helmet...Thanks...

I don't know enough to put up a new thread but I believe basically that you have to get enough views on your videos to be offered a YT partnership. Then they put ads on your videos (I think you choose which ones, and they cannot contain copyrighted material), and you get paid per view. Most only make a few cents per day unless they are very popular such as Mordeth13.

Billmaa has the best videos IMO, with his By Way of Motorcyle (BWOM) series.

I think it has to be over 2,500 subscribers and over 70,000 views. They have certain rules and restrictions like no profanity and no music that is copyrighted unless you have permission. It's not much I know most people who are big only get say $10-$20 a month from allowing the advertisements.

umm i really dont know if i want to devouge my creativity/stupidity on my mount. it is really a temporary mount, to see if its something that i want to look into further.

like i said 'rigged', but i will give some insight, ready...

i took what i call hanger strap, 3/4" wide strap with 1/4" holes in it.
i bent it into a 'u' shape and bolted it around the handlebar. i have a 1/4" bolt sticking up through it that my camera screwed on to. i also put tape upside down on the handlebar first to eliminate scratches.

since the video turned out decent, im going to find a real mount.

Actually that sounds like a pretty good idea... A little flat black paint on the metal strap and some rubber for better vibe isolation instead of the tape and you've got a pretty sweet (and understated) setup. If it's secure why spend money you don't need to? Thanks!
