Exclamation Kaoko Throttle Control(Cruise Control) Group buy.....Anyone?

According to the e-mail I received from them, the KAOKO_YAM300 will fit our bike. I was wondering if anyone else is interested in having a group buy on this, and if yes just reply this thread so we can organize and get a discounted price.
Currently they sell it on their website and on twistedthrottle for $110 but I think that's a bit much for a friction nut.

The Throttle Control (Cruise Control) is pictured bellow:

Kaoko USA: Kaoko Throttle Control for Yamaha FZ1, FZ6, XJR1200, XJR1300, TDM 850, TDM 900

I've looked into cruise control and would love to have it since I do ride long distances at times, but this just seems over-priced. Depends on the adjusted price for a group purchase.

Call me a cheapskate. I'd bite at maybe $25, but I guess that's not going to happen.

So wait. do I get this right. It replaces the bar end/weight on the handlebar and you Tighten it to "set" it/keep the throttle in a given position and then loosen when you want to move freely? In the "off" position wouldnt vibration wiggle it out? not being tight.

If thats the case I will make my own plastic washer/insert for my current bar end. Nice but way more that my wallet would spend.

I like the idea though.

EDIT...no for that price its gotta be a little better/ more sophisticated than that? anyone have one??

Well, that's the problem; I don't know nobody that has one, so I can't know how good is it.

Any way, they replied back:

subject RE: Any of your products compatible with 2009 Yamaha FZ6R?

RE:

Thanks for the note!

I would love to offer the group a special buy.

Retail is $110 plus shipping.

I would need at least 10 buyers at $92 plus $5 flat rate shipping in the USA only.

Buyers should go to:

http://www.kaokousa.com/mm5/merchant...e=KAOKO_YAMAHA

Purchase the throttle control on line, THEN send me an email letting me know this order is for the group buy. I will adjust the price and send a new invoice. Once the group buy window is closed, it will take me 5 -10 business days to get them all in then shipped.

Sound fair?

Thanks!
Andrew

$97 shipped....I don't know, I still think that's a lot for what it is.

I would rather buy a set of Throttlemeisters. They are much nicer and look easier to use than this. The FZ6 setup will work with our bikes. I checked into them awhile ago. Would anyone be interested in doing a group buy for these?

I think I'm just going to transfer my Crampbuster from my scoot over to the bike and see how it is. These other devices seem nice and all, but I think my Crampbuster was only $15 or something!

There's this for another option too. its what 30 bucks?

Motorcycle Cruise Control Mounts to Handlebars and holds Throttle position while riding

I was wondering how those crampbusters work and plan to try one...as long drive home on a 55 roadway...and wrist does get a lil' tired!!
