Does the bike start using the .85 gallon reseve when the last indicator on the fuel meter starts flashing? I hope so, because the most I've been able to get into the tank is 3.56 gallons with the odometer (after it switched over automatically) showing 5 miles.

The F-Trip switch-over isn't perfectly accurate. It depends on how you drive the bike and what kind of mileage you get. It's supposed to be at .85 gallons left, but since the tank sensor is subject to acceleration, deceleration and leaning, it may change over, then just stay there.

I usually get just under 50 miles on my F-Trip, but I haven't gone passed that yet. At that point I generally fill up 4.3 - 4.5 gallons. You have room to go a little further, unless you prefer to fill up right away.
