I noticed the harder shifting too. I need to bump up the rear shock to 7 from 6 after looking at that picture. Ride height is a little low. She's only like 120#'s but I'm around 225.

glad to know it's not just me! This may be a silly question but does anyone have any shift techniques for 2up riding?

, Yeah, for nervous pillion shift smooth as possible. My daughter rode with me few months ago and I did some hard shifting and she afterwards said she liked the ride except for me hitting the brakes while we were going (19 and has no clue about having to shift to drive anything thought I was hitting brake then gas lol)

Cortech saddlebags, tank bag, decals removed. Someday hardcase bags, aftermarket touring windshield to be light sport-tourer.

I'm sorry you have one of those. Was she one who couldn't figure out how to put gas in the car on her own? (Like my wife when she was 18)

I ride with my 5 year old daughter on occasion and it wasn't easy getting her to understand her leaning is like grabbing the steering wheel in the car. I also have a harness that secures her to me since she had a lot of trouble holding on. Now we've got it down and we both enjoy our rides. I grew up riding to the Rock Store on the back of my dad's bike with him dragging his knees most of the way. I'm don't push it that hard with my kid on the bike though.

Wow, that young eh? I want to take my nephew for a ride but he's too small. about 3 years old. Plus my sister would kill me!

I notice what JonKerr is sayin too...some harder shifting. I find that if you shift earlier in the rpm range and slower that it takes some of the "kick" out of the shift, especially in lower gears.

Just my 2pence, i have ridden the XJ6 with a pillion on a number of occasions and althought the additional weight obviously impacts upon the performance parameters it is quite respectable.

My pillion enjoys the comfort although she isn't keen on the shape of the grabrail (not sure if the fz6r has the shame item). The good thing is if it was crap she would not hold back about telling me!!!
