Hey all,
Another Aussie with a restricted FZ6R. Hopefully that will be taken care of soon... I bought the Black one with the bronze/gold wheels and highlights. Believe its still called raven here...i think... Anyway, I got myself an M2 VALE exhaust from TBR shipped from the states and after putting it on, realised there isnt anywhere on the new exhaust for the stock sensor (think its an o2) to go in, so the bike shop have gotten me this loop back style plug from somewhere to send the computer a false positive on the o2 levels in the exhaust. I have noticed since putting the exhaust on with this loop back plug that fuel economy has dropped by about 40km per tank (which is a big deal when you ride 140km a day to and from work) Do you think I should be looking at getting the TBR fuel management thing? Does anyone else have it, and what did that give you with one of their exhausts? Will post up some pics of the toy on the weekend. Dave |

Hey Wise,
Cant help with the problem, just curious which dealer you purchased your bike from in Sydney & how much did you pay for it? I'm planning to buy one as soon as I get my insurance money & also to get it unrestricted. Thanks

My guess is that with the installation of the new pipe, the bike is flowing better, and it is sending a 'lean' condition to the computer. Your computer is dumping mass quantities of fuel to compensate, but it is out of the range of auto adjustment from the stock ECU. JMO.

I know its too late for a reply. But I am from Melbourne and I got my bike for an year. Like everyone I first thought of replacing the stock exhaust for better sound, fuel eco and looks. But I did my research and found that in US they dont need an O2 sensor so fitting a replacement has to deal with that and ever since I am running on stock. And now I am thinking of not to replace my stock exhaust because Victoria being a nanny state for road I am not attracting undercover cops because my bike actually goes faster than they sound and not the other way unlike other bikes. So I thought I will be a sleeper for sometime from now. With the stock exhaust I am getting poor fuel eco which is 7.5/100km. Did you find a solution for your bike and what is the mileage you are getting? |

hey my M4 exhaust came with a hole for the 02 sensor, one of the reasons i bought it over the TB one , and it thows out a blue flame at night. i still get about 250k a tank when commuting up the F3, but start having bit of fun on the twisties and that quickly drops to just over 100k a tank. planning on getting power commander soon
