looks like im sitting closer to the 2k mark, i was anticipating sitting closer to 3200.... with my tax returns...but thats just not happening... unless a miracle happens... i wont be getting a fz6r for a while still...:(

i talk about my best friend Raphael a lot on this forum, and i really don't know where to post this, i'd like it to be a post in the forum rather...

i talk about my best friend Raphael a lot on this forum, and i really don't know where to post this, i'd like it to be a post in the forum rather than my blog... but my blog is where it seems to fit.

Raphael believes that riding pants are overrated, he has crashed his nighthawk cb250 3 times in jeans, without a jacket, but with gloves. he knows that a helmet and gloves are important but thinks that riding gear is overrated and that i shouldn't waste my money on riding gear before i buy a bike. Raphael says that the elbow pads are stupid and aren't needed in his jacket... he doesn't appreciate them.... he says that i shouldn't buy riding pants because jeans will work just fine. I know for a fact from this forum that jeans don't "work just fine" and i tried to explain to him id rather be safe than sorry.... and i like to keep my skin.... one of these days it will bite him in the ass.... it didn't faze him....i understand the importance of gear... he sees it as me being overly prepared.....

he also told me that i'm overly cocky and that i'm over confident in my riding ability... its not that i'm over confident in my riding ability... frankly there is quite a bit i'm not confident about.... but without confidence how am i to ride? afraid of every corner, pot hole and driver? fear is was creates an accident.... i'm confident because of the 12 years riding experience i have off the road, i know and understand that its a completely different element... he argues that i don't....but i also know that those years off road will make me a better rider because of what it has taught me about controlling a motorcycle...however....there not the same...

i fear for my self... because i don't know if i'm being over confident... i know my limitations, i wont know my bikes limitations until i own one...Raphael i feel is the one being over confident because he has had his bike... he has crashed and now he feels like he knows better than my self... because of experience... as i only know through "research"...

i dont know where to stand and i'm not sure how to convince him how important ATGATT is... i'm a firm believer in being heard, being seen and being in ATGATT.... he disagrees with all of it... he thinks being seen isn't important, he thinks being heard is stupid and expensive.. and loud... and like i said about the gear... i know from my father, my uncle and growing up in a motorcycle community first hand how important all of those things are.... and i fear one day because raphael is such a skeptic and so ignorant that it will aether kill him.... or get him seriously hurt.... he fears that ill be reckless and immature.... ( i'm not justifying that) but if i were reckless and immature at least id be heard, seen and have all the gear to save my life!

i dont know what to do or say... i don't know how i should feel about him and his dad thinking i'm overly confident...and i think thats because they have never really seen me ride anything but my scooter.... does anyone have any comments, concerns, suggestions?

after my last camping "adventure" in the cold i realized that i was not as fully equipped as i had imagined i was... a tent is a great shelter....but not 100% water proof...more food is better than what i had packed  when it rains it gets cold and stays that way... i also learned that i didn't have a proper knife or half of what i would need in the case that i really needed to survive. Raphael ( c'mon now you guys should know who he is by now!!) and my self took it upon our selves to prepare ahead of time. Raphael has been watching how to survive videos on you tube... i may self haven't watched as many but did learn how to build a debris shelter and set some traps.... a few other tricks to like how to build a cot/ above ground bed..., however, i have started packing, planing, and buying the gear we need to go on out next camping "adventure". we will be leaving the tent at home... most of the weight we will carry will be food due to the fact that nether of us have hunting of fishing license depending on what the pack feels like after we disperse of some weight between the two of us sleeping bags may be coming with us...emergency blankets will be with us.

since the last "adventure" raphael and i have been hiking to scout out a good camping location..i have also picked up a eton emergency radio/crank flashlight, the Bear Grylls ultimate survival fixed blade knife and a few other accessories that could make all the difference in a survival scenario. I have a pair of boots that are 8-10 years old that i love to hike in and wear to work...the rubber pieces/layers on the bottom half of the boot were fraying and separating from my boots and after such a long time they had no longer been able to repel water....so.... i have tried to epoxy the cracks and creases with some water resistant stuff from work... it didn't exactly make the boot look better or glue the pieces together but i'm certain it sealed the boots back up. I will also be water proofing my boots with some Thompson wood, brick and concrete water proofing spray once all this rain goes away.

today raphael and i test out my new knife.... and hike down the south wester side of the lake i live on to scout out a place to possibly camp...tomorrow i hope to water proof my boots.

thanks for reading my blogs and stay tuned for what ever other random events occur in my strange life! :D

I have many passions in life, i've been told you cant take life to seriously, however, as a child my mother scared me to death of the world... i was afraid of everything. I hate to say this because it sounds horribly perverse but when my mom passed i was relieved of that worry, the stress of something always bad happening, like being eaten by a shark or stung by a jellyfish...or driving lol. Now i have a much more open heart and mind to things, i like trying new things and going new places. some of you read my blogs...probably just the mods to make sure im not breaking any rules or something...some of you have read my posts. i have started trying beers... and other essences lol

for the longest time i have loved tea...yes "colored water" as my step dad calls it...im a kind of tea connoisseur I have fallen in love with organic teas, both rare, expensive and common and cheap. Lipton black tea was the only thing i really knew as a kid, and maybe some bed time tea.... as i got older i tried others... and now i have started a new chapter of exploration. I started trying yogi organic herbal teas about 6 months ago... i like them, they work... but are all similar in taste. I eventually got tired of said same taste so i went ahead one day and kinda splurged... i spent $16 on two boxes of organic tea...for me $16 for tea was ridiculous i had never spent more than maybe $3... and frankly $5 for Yogi was ludicrous...but i discovered i really like this tea that i bought so i searched for there web site... Two leaves and a bud is the name of the company... i have now fallen in love with, before christmas i ordered there sample pack, i have tried all of there teas... and honestly my world has never been the same! these teas arent made with cheap fillers, they arent ground up... they dont have preservatives.... they are amazingly flavored and they made me not only feel better... but gave me energy and im not sure how to describe it... but its kinda like when you have coffee in the morning they just kinda start your day off right... in a healthy way.

I knew about this store called teavana for a while, but there prices were steep as hell, so i never really went in. My best friend raphael is now getting into tea as well, and had gotten a tea infuser ( a mug with a separate "filter" for loose leaf tea) from teavana for half off and some english breakfast tea he was raving about. My guess is he has never had good english breakfast tea before.... because in all honesty between the two, two leaves in a bud is just as good...Raphael managed to drag me down to teavana the other day where i got a tea infuser and some "earl grey creme" which is a loose leaf earl grey tea mixed with madagascarian vanilla. i hated spending the money ( $5.40 for every 2oz of tea which honestly is quite a bit of tea...but not really)... but the flavor is amazing...and so now i am on yet another journey to try all there flavors and search out yet some more... the perfect cup of tea. I said before i like teavana, the have amazing tea, they are not FDA or USDA organic certified they are certified by an international organic certificate... however... there prices are steep and hard to budget... there teas range from $2.75-$25 per 2oz of tea... the $20-$25 teas are imperial reserve teas ( teas reserved for the emperor or upper-class and have been that way for over 3000 years)....i am yet to try but eager to get a hold of... sorry for such a long blog, but thanks for reading if you know of any other organic teas let me know, or if you just have a favorite brand please share!

ok i forgot about this until i reminded my self just now and i felt like sharing. my best friend whom i seem to talk about all the time made me shake upon going camping this week. the weather here in northern virginia is supposed to be between 55-65 degrees monday and tuesday... wednesday is a 40% chance of rain and will be about 45 degrees.... thursday and friday will be about 40-44 degrees and partly cloudy... I know your probably going are you fucking insane!!? i know that right now is not the ideal time to go camping, frankly i think raphael is retarded but i shacked on it...besides i have a sub-zero mummy sleeping bag that is good up to -20 degrees... and i have thermals and a couple emergency blankets. but raphael does not have a sleeping bag and has only gone camping a hand full of times. the last time i know they went camping they had a freakin AC unit in the tent for god sake! im kinda wondering if anyone knows of a way to heat the tent safely without compromising my tent or safety haha do any of my readers have any advice..... besides not going?

so i found this helmet just kinda scanning the interwebs for no good reason and i would sever an arm and sell it on the black market for this thing lol... so for my next helmet or if im feeling reckless about money :P i think im going to get this one, Arai is no doughtily the best brand helmet out there, and they safety ratings are through the roof.... right now i have a none SNELL approved helmet and honestly i would kill for one.... my helmet is fine and i have no good reason to buy a new helmet but i really like this one and if there was a good enough excuse id buy it right now XD...but my hjc is nothing to complain about its light, it was cheap, its done its job and does its job just fine...in other words i just wanna buy this helmet because i want it hahaha

p.s theres a leprechaun on the back :P

edit: i tried on the vector today and a couple other arie's i dont think ill be buying one.... they weren't all to comfy for me... however i did find an icon alliance helmet that i fell in love with once i put it on.... never saw that coming.... i dont need a helmet ... not a new one yet.... but in the near future ill keep that in mind... ive been noticing that icon gear seems to be the best fitting for me :D

My Icon contra jacket arrived in the mail today, looks and fits awesome, was brand new for $142 shipped. I also picked up a pair of olympia digatal protector gloves today while i was down at MFI ( the shop as ill frequently call it) they were list priced at $49.99 and i got a beanie $11.99.... they gave me my dads employee discount.... for a grand total of $46.00... cant complain with that at all. I helped the guys out at the shop a bit and when it was time to close up, i helped put away all the bikes.... that was fun despite being 20 degrees and windy out... called for snow? apparently it only hit 2 citys and wasnt even an inch  i want some real snow damn it! I sure wish winter would settle its ass in here in va, this effing hot then cold then hot crap is really bugging me, not only can i not get a good deal on a bike but i love the snow and it just aint coming!!

Alright! Just passed the 30 day mark!!! YAY! :D 60 more to go

I am very happy with my progress so far. I feel absolutely wonderful. I have so much more energy now and love it. My food urges are almost gone. Candy, processed crap junk food, fast food has no appeal to me anymore. I enjoy real, whole foods now. I have not checked my weight this last week at all. I am off for Xmas break so I will check it on Monday on the calibrated scale at work. I have lost 1 belt hole in my belt though!

What is great about P90X is that you see progress and results very fast. After this first month and seeing how much you progress, it gives you so much motivation to keep going. If 30 days can work this good, I can't wait to see 90, and then more and more and more ;) I have already learned so much by doing this that I will carry on with, for the rest of my life.

I will never go back to that Day 1 picture of myself.

with christmas here now and gone... i am getting a little closer to my bike. however i wont know for sure how close, i still need to visit one of my grandparents and i still need to go see my aunt who also has presents from my step family because she flew down to visit them and is bringing the presents back with her. with that said so far i have $200 to put into my bike savings... im still quite far away but it puts me at about $1600 USD... fingers crossed my grandmother gives me another $200-400... i didnt get to see her last christmas and she tends to give me $200 every year.... but i dont wanna get my hopes up... tax returns are in what april? i have my fingers crossed that my tax returns may help me get even closer to the bike.... id kill for a good 3-4k price tag on an fz6r.... i find it ludacris people want 5500-6200 for there 08-09 fz6rs when i can buy a 08-09 r6 for cheaper.... i dont want an r6 but if i could trade one for a fz6r XD...... i have often considered getting a ninja 500 just because they are in the price range and my best friend is going to sell his cb250 for one.... its low and light.... but i love the fz6r.... i honestly just wanna ride.... but id sure hate to buy a ninja 500 and be just that much farther away from an fz6r....people seem to have more respect for the fz6r than the ninja 500 as well...

well thats all for now... thank you who ever you are that keep taking the time to read my blogs :)
